전국체육대회의 발전과정을 통해 본 체육사적 의의

Abstract

The aim of this study is to considerate the meaning of athletic history from transition of the National Athletic Meet, the most prestigious all-around games in Korea. For the attainment of the study's aim, I examined the Korean Amateur Athletic Association(the host organization)'s foundation and the main activities. Also, to considerate growth of the National Athletic Meet, I established periods of the National Athletic Meet as follows: Resurrection(1945～1956), Spring(1957～1971), Reformation(1972～1981), Development(1982～1987), Sublimation(1988～now) That is to say, I discussed its development from the restoration of independence to the 87th National Athletic Meet and concluded as below:

1. The mother part of Korea's elite sports development 2. Great contribution to local athletic facilities and cultural development 3. Principles of physical education's development 4. Playing a pivotal role in promotion of living physical exercise 5. Saving the know-how to holding world tournaments Like this, as the National Athletic Meet makes a tour and is held in each region, it becomes an athletic festival that local residents participate in and a cultural event the whole nation join in directly as well as simply an athletic event. It evolves local sports and takes a role in saving the know-how to holding world tournaments and running. The National Athletic Meet is a home excellent meet which lets the whole world know Korean sports' predominance and it's a delivery room of korea's elite sports.
