Abstract

This study is to seek solution for revitalization of hotel international conference inducement through investigation of the present hotel operation condition and grasp of the important factors of each sponsor's decision making. To accomplish such goal, this study examined definition of concept, present condition, organization of hotel international conference and current status of hotel facilities based on theoretical consideration of studies of bibliograph, existing statistics and leading studies as well as review of pertinent leading studies to draw the questionnaire. At the same time, this study intended to present the useful basic data for revitalization of hotel international conference inducement through status review of hotel international conference and analysis of important factors of each sponsor's decision making by conducting the questionnaire survey of pertinent people related to international conference. According to the results of study, frequency analysis of the subject of investigation indicated a larger percentage of woman than that of man and the highest proportion of the age in thirties. The regional distribution chart indicated that Busan follows Seoul, and the length of service indicated the highest proportion of six to ten years, and the number of attendance and planning involved in a convention indicated the highest proportion of three to five times. As the result of reliability test, both analysis of current operation status of international conference and analysis of important factors of international conference inducement marked the reliability coefficient exceeding 0.8 that belongs to the extent of high reliability. Analysis of current operation status of international conference indicated that all ten items was below the average, and the majority of the subject of the questionnaire were not satisfied with current operation status of international conference raising 'positive PR of their company and marketing' and 'reasonable price of hotel rate, food and beverage' as the most serious problem among the items. Analysis of important factors of hotel international conference inducement indicated that 'reasonable price of hotel rate, food and beverage' and 'preparation of hotel room and subsidiary facilities' were the important matters of highest priority to be resolved. As the result of analysis of important factors affecting each sponsor's decision making, comparison analysis per sex distinction indicated significant remarkableness in 'specialized organization and know-how of hotel' and 'security problems', and comparison analysis per their place of work indicated significant remarkableness in 'overseas visit activities of reference person' and 'specialized organization structure', and comparison analysis per the length of service indicated significant remarkableness in 'overseas visit activities of reference person', and comparison analysis per the number of planning/attendance indicated significant remarkableness in 'preparation of room and subsidiary facilities'. My aspiration is that the results of this study, which was prepared as an advanced strategy for international conference inducement, will make contribution in successful hotel international conference inducement while serving as the basic data for creation of a big profit, image raise and establishment of plan for the hotels through quality improvement of hotel employees and domination in competition with competitors. And further, it will hold a meaning that expansion of scope of study by diversified methods without limitation of hotel international conference, such as analysis of importance of association use with convention center, joint marketing, analysis of the hotel sales resulted from holding international conference, etc. At the same time, a study of joint inducement with Convention Visitors Bureau of exclusive responsibility should be carried out.
