5.31 지방선거기간 중 방송보도 방식에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study analyses the result and its meanings of 5.31 Local Election and is to understand some problems and some features of the election reports on the local television during official election campaign duration. This study focuses on the above problems and more specifically on the following issue; 1. What types were dealt with television news of the broadcasting three companies in Pusan area during 5.31 local elections? 2. What issues were focused on television news of the broadcasting three companies in Pusan area during 5.31 local elections? 3. What is the feature on contents of the report related to 5.31 local elections of the three broadcasting companies in Pusan area? In an attempt to answer these questions, some content analysis of television news against 5.31 local elections had been performed. This paper is based on the analysis of television news reported during the period of the local election. I use the main news - in Busan KBS (Busan Korean Broadcasting System) and in Busan MBC (Busan Mun-hwa Broadcasting Corporation), in KNN (Korea News Network) as the object of this analysis. The period of this analysis is the time for 13 days from May 18th to May 30th. And the standard unit of the analysis is each independent news. The results of this analysis are as follow. First, The local broadcasting companies have carried out a lot in numbers, on the report for the regional election in value of the news during the local election period. However, ratio for the report news made it appearance higher than the straight news that cannot help putting the superficial report compared with the other reports form, and it will be positive to intend to put the more deep contents. Second, the local broadcasting companies have reported in concentration only for election on the chiefs of Local Government Election. Third, the point at issue that reported in election for chiefs of Local Government appears the Election Pledges for the policy, such as "Economic/traffic” and get encouraged to induce to the political election pledge, however, it had stopped to level to be compared and arranged in a row from their political election pledge and object of each candidate or political party.
