- Abstract
- This research is new methodology to assist decision of executive so far. We have adopted Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) which measures relative efficiency of valuable object to Fisheries Port market. DEA has adopted in variable fields such as bank, insurance company, police station, hospital, prison, army, school etc. which products multiple inputs and outputs to measure the result.
We have researched the estimation efficiency of Fisheries Port Market(FPM) as valuable objects in 2006.
The result of this study, we can notice that inefficiency exists in 52 FPMs of 64 FPMs. We found out the average technical efficiency is 0.579, pure technical efficiency is 0.783, and scale efficiency is 0.735 in all branches.
Pure technical efficiency is bigger than scale efficiency in Decision Making Units(DMUs). These DMUs are 29 FPMs and the reason of inefficiency is very affected by inappropriate size.
0≤E≤0.19 is lowest group and 0.2≤E≤0.39 is second lowest group in estimation of efficiency score in DEA. The progressive proposal about these 2 groups is as follows;
First we need to rearrange Young-Hyeung(0.195), Kyung-In North(0.170), Sin-Hyeuk(0.125) among 9 FPMs in lowest group (0≤E≤0.19) according to estimation of efficiency score.
Pure technical efficiency score of these 3 FPMs is 1. This means the reason of inefficiency all comes from scale inefficiency and the feature of management activity shows increasing harvest gradually. This is reason why we need to do it first.
Next rearrangement order is Tae-An(0.191), Ko-Seong(0.172), Bu-An(0.069) and Jin-Dong(0.036) in the rest of 6 FPMs. The reason of inefficiency is prior to scale inefficiency. In this case, we need to accelerate rearrangement. We also need to consider management activity in section of increasing harvest about scale. However in case of Young-Kwang(0.193), Yang-Yang(0.347), The reason of inefficiency comes from pure technique side. These are recommended the progressive proposal which leads rearrangement of input components.
