- Abstract
- As an ubiquitous era is arriving, there have been many changes in the area of education. The existing tele-education, such as online education and e-Learning, is developing into a broader concept of u-Learning. As the enterprises offering u-Learning service are increasing with the development of ubiquitous environment, the existing tele-education markets are gradually being replaced by u-Learning.
Until now, most of the researches on u-Learning have been focused on the technological and systematical factors related to developing new systems or security methods, and there have been very few researches on the students' satisfaction.
This paper is to find out and analyse the factors of student satisfaction as the critical success factors of u-Learning. The research model with the factors influencing student satisfaction is suggested. A regression analysis is conducted through questionnaires, answered by the students who use UMPC(Ultra Mobile PC) at the high schools, in order to examine the research model. The results of the research can be summarized as followings:
First, 67.4% of the students who use u-Learning are using the service less than 3 times a week, which is a rather low rate.
Second, the factors that influence the students' satisfaction are found to be tangibles and empathy of service quality, speed of system quality, diversity and authority of information quality. All these factors are proved to have a positive(+) influence on the students' satisfaction.
Third, the students' satisfaction also have a positive(+) influence on intention of reuse and word-of-mouth intention.
This research has a significance in that it builds the foundation for later in-depth studies on the students' satisfaction factors of u-Learning, which is at the beginning level at present, and in that it offers the basic data for a successful settlement of u-Learning by examining the factors that affect the students' satisfaction.
