A Survey Study on the Fire loads of Apartment Building
Abstract
After surveying combustibles of apartment building, the fire loads were calculated by each of room, materials and household and movable and fixed fire loads. Then the fire loads were compared with other existing studies and reports. Next is the result of this study.
1) These are the fire loads of each room : bedroom1 743MJ/㎡, bedroom2 919MJ/㎡, bedroom3 917MJ/㎡, living room 453MJ/㎡, kitchen room 781MJ/㎡, entrance 902MJ/㎡. the fire loads should be applied to decide the fire resistance before designing building. Because the rate of fixed fire loads of the entrance and balconies is so high, it need to be considered to plan fire refuge.
2) By the fire load of materials wood is the highest(45%), the next is chemical products(23%). As rate of the chemical products which reaction velocity of heat is fast is growing up, it shows that fire extinguishing equipment which the reactivity of heat is fast should be asked.
3) In the fire loads of each household, the more age group is high the more fire loads is high. But if there are two persons in each household, the fire load was reduced.
4) In comparing with domestic studies and reports the fire loads is high, but foreign's is low. As internal studies about fire loads is a few, it needs other studies that heat of combustion of not each material but each product to calculate correct fire loads.
There is a limit that it should be used combustion of each product but didn't in this study. The area division of apartment building for this study is 84.99㎡, later it needs studies on various area division and plane.
