전투력 상승을 위한 USN/GIS 중대급 화생방 모니터링 시스템
- Alternative Title
- The CBR Monitoring System of Company-Size based on USN/GIS for Increasing Combat Strength
- Abstract
- As combat and battle strategies have become more scientific and intelligence-oriented, researches about USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) and GIS(Geographic Information System), a crucial part of combat, have been conducted to make use of the concept of network central combat and the ground operation C4I(Command, Control, Computer, Communication & Intelligence) system, which will be developed until 2020 to fully utilize individual MOS(military occupational speciality). Hence, the early warning system is required to prepare for CBR(Chemical, Biological and Radiological) warfare that can cause mass destruction. Therefore, researches have been conducted in order to find ways that ensure the early detection of CBR condition and improve the survivability of company-size or higher units during defense operations.
First, with environmental monitoring sensor, we can continuously observe the amount of carbon dioxide in limited space and alert the supervisor when the indicator reaches the critical point.
Second, after the indicator exceeds the critical point, the information about environment and location is displayed on the GIS system, which is based on the prototyped PDA(Personal Digital Assistants), thus enabling real-time recognition.
Third, reporting of the process takes only 10 seconds, while existing handwork system takes about 5 minutes. Thus, accuracy and promptitude are greatly improved with the automated system.
In conclusion, this research provides a prototype for CBR defense system for the company-size unit's C4I system. Moreover, this research provides a logical evidence that increased combat strength is possible with accuracy and promptitude in the network central combat.
Finally, we present a direction for the utilization of CBR sensor which is going to be distributed to individual soldiers in the future.
This research leaves a task to develop the environmental monitoring system which can be utilized by civilians, government and army as a whole with great integration.
