Abstract
This study in to suggest practical method to teach Korean pronunciation using Korea drama for Japanese adult learners. The fundamental purpose studying second language is to communicate native speakers with in. A drama that is a mirror of contemporary life seems more appropriate for that approach than any other audiovisual media. A drama is barometer of contemporary life and makes it possible to take a look at not only the linguistic elements of contemporary society but nonverbal factors such as culture and Korean pronunciation. Therefore, one of the benefits of a drama is that viewers are able to Japanese adult learners about not only linguistic elements but nonverbal ones at the same time.
The purpose of this study was to present Korean pronunciation teaching methods by utilizing dramas. Lately, there are growing attempts to develop foreign language teaching methods by employing audiovisual materials such as drama, film or animation.
This study is organized as follows.
The first chapter presents the purpose and the necessity of this study and briefly introduces the method and contents of the study.
In Chapter 2, The core of teaching consonants is distinguishing the different places of articulation compared to Japanese and recognizing the existence of aspiration. A comparison is made between Korean and Japanese phonemes and phonetic changes, and looking through preceding research this study looks into how pronunciation is taught. Japanese and Korean are aware of the difference. Japanese pronunciation for adult learners with educational materials that are useful are discussed drama.
In Chapter 3 looked into instructional model and instructional procedures that were presented by linguistics and made of audiovisual materials. Thus, After analyzing audio visual teaching model utilizing drama professor pronunciation models were presented.
In Chapter 4, Utilizing drama pronunciation lessons and Common pronunciation lessons was compared. Specific lesson plan will be also shown to suggest how drama can be used to educate Korean pronunciation in a real classroom. Experiment in education through the drama of the Korean pronunciation has confirmed that useful material.
In chapter 5 is the conclusion. Japanese pronunciation education for adult learners in the way of drama was appropriate.
The drama is the effective learning resource extremely exposed actually using Korean when a learner aims at learning Korean pronunciation and also for practical using in daily life. This study is based on the future utilizing the drama and be done with pronounced educational research.
