Abstract
To solve the problem of limited supply and high price of the fish meal used as a protein source of the fish culture, imported GM grains are widely used in Korea. The genetic analysis was conducted on the meals and its materials to confirm the content and types of GM genes.
The protein detection diagnosis kit and PCR method were used to detect the GM genes in the meals and its materials. As a result, the GM gene was not detected in rice bran and defatted rice bran; however, the PR gene was detected in peeled soybean meal, soybean meal and wheat flour and PR, PAT and Cry family GM genes were detected in corns, corn gluten and distillers dried grains.
