Abstract

Sequences with low correlation, high linear complexity and large family size paly a crucial role in wireless communications, such as in a multi-carrier spread communication system The smaller the pairwise crosscorrelations and the larger the family, the higher the capacity of the system. Also, the higher the linear span, the harder it is for an adversary to jam or intercept messages. So far, many methods for investing spreading sequences and many results have been presented and obtained. In this thesis we give a new family of binary sequences with low correlation and large family size. This family include GMW-sequences, Kasami-sequences and No-sequences as special cases. Also the proposed sequences is of near optimal correlation regarding Welch bound. In this thesis we give the method for the synthesis of linear and nonlinear binary sequences. Also we give the method for calculation of the cross correlation function of given binary sequences.
