피아제의 인지발달이론에 기초한 디자인교과서 개선방안연구를 중심으로

Abstract

Abstract Design education in elementary schools aims to facilitate the ability to think and solve problems creatively. These creative abilities are very important and necessary for the coming future society. Therefore, current curriculum is to be revised for these needs. The purpose of this study was to analyze design and fine art textbooks which is using in 5th and 6th grades in elementary schools in Seoul city. The theoretical framework of this study was Piaget's theory of cognitive development. This study was composed of five chapters as follows: First, in Chapter I, the purpose, method, scope and limitation of the study was introduced. Second, in chapter II, the outline of Piaget's theory of cognitive development was reviewed for the theoretical framework of analysis. Third, in Chapter III, the contents of the design textbook and four kinds of fine art textbooks using in 5th and 6th grades in elementary schools in Seoul city were analyzed to comprehend current conditions of design education. Fourth, in Chapter IV, six elements of design textbook were derived from the viewpoint of Piaget's theory of cognitive development: presentation of problem, discussion, presentation of contents learning, visual materials, work sheets and communication. Fifth, in Chapter V, some strategies for improving design textbook were suggested from the derived six elements of design textbook. Finally, we hope to be applied some suggestions given in this thesis to the improvement of the curriculums and their contents of design textbooks and fine art textbooks using in elementary schools.
