LBS/PDA 기반의 화물운송 경쟁력 확보 방안에 대한 연구

Abstract

In a rapidly changing modern market environment, the intensification of competition between domestic and overseas business entities has been accelerated and business entities have come to recognize physical distribution as a crucial means of competition, thus making comprehensive management of physical distribution an important resource of business entities' competitiveness. Therefore, according to the development of information and communication technology, leading business entities home and abroad alike attach great importance to the reinforcement of their competitiveness on the basis of development and use of new physical distribution information system in order to understand and control the flow of physical distribution. In addition, domestic physical distribution environment has presented such modalities of radical change as globalization, development of information technology, conversion of recognition of customers, intensified competition among business entities and so on. The purpose of this study was to develop transportation methods and LBS-based comprehensive contents in order to cope with environmental changes and intensified competition in radically changing physical distribution market environment and then present a new business model which could secure networks and extend value chains, thus groping after the strategy of continuous growth and new opportunity of business for partakers in transportation market. In the second chapter, the investigator examined the conception, function, role and system of physical distribution, harbor physical distribution and transportation business processes. In the third chapter, the investigator analyzed the current status of business of D Company which operating the transportation business of harbor freight and then presented strategies to realize the process of securing freight transportation competitiveness. One of unsatisfactory points found out in the course of carrying out this study is that many business entities which carrying out the business of harbor physical distribution have similar business processes, but it is not standardized, thus increasing unnecessary expenses for physical distribution information and communication in order to secure the compatibility of business. In addition, although information and communication technology advances day after day, business entities' insufficient intention of sharing information seems to be the factor of impeding national and corporate competitiveness for the business of physical distribution.
