Abstract

This study was conducted on a pronated group of 6 male students attending P University located in B city.

Firstly, physical characteristics of the students were examined, and then experiments were conducted in a gymnasium to secure space for free walking. Before the experiments, the students were asked to walk in normal pace for 5 times to relax them and prevent their abnormal movement. The walking speed, one of experiment conditions, was set at 88 steps per minute according to a digital metronome. And Only sneakers with flat bottoms were used for the experiment.

Maximum Force, Contact Area, Mean pressure and Peak pressure were measured using a foot pressure distribution measuring instrument. The surface of the foot sole was divided into 10 areas - inside and outside of the rear foot(mask 1, mask 2), inside and outside of the middle foot including the arched part(mask 3, mask 4), inside and outside of the front foot(mask 5, mask 6, mask 7) Hallux and other parts including toes(mask 8, mask 9, mask 10).
This study was conducted on male college students with pronated foot to measure the foot pressure by having them wear three kinds of wedge insoles (0°, 5°, 0°). Analytical results by divided foot areas as follows:

1. Regarding Maximum Force, it increased in the inside of the foot according to wedge insole, while decreasing in the outside. And there was statistically significant difference in the area 3 of the middle foot(p< .001).

2. Regarding the Contact Area, it appeared broad in the inside of the foot according to wedge insole, and there was statistically significant difference in the area 1 of the rear foot(p< .05) and the area 3 of the middle foot(p< .001).

3. Regarding the Mean Pressure by foot area, the pressure roughly increased in the inside of the foot according to wedge insole, while decreasing in the outside of the foot. there was statistically significant difference in the area 2 of the rear foot(p< .05) and the area 3 of the middle foot(p< .05).

4. Peak Pressure by foot area decreased in the whole area according to wedge insole. And there was statistically significant in the area 2 of the rear foot(p< .05), area 1 of rear foot(p< .05) and area 3 of the middle foot(p< .001).
