교육방안 연구

Abstract

민속극은 문학․문화․춤․음악 등이 조화된 종합예술이다. 일반적으로 관객은 연희자에 의해 연희되는 것을 보고 들으면서 민속극을 이해하게 된다. 민속극은 말과 노래로 전하기 때문에 상황에 따른 변이가 쉽게 일어나며, 구연현장이 매우 중요하다. 이와 같은 민속극의 특성 때문에 국어 교과 제재로서의 민속극을 교육하기란 쉽지 않은 일이다. 교과서 속에 담긴 민속극은 문자로 기록된 제재로 존재하지만 민속극의 본질은 일반적인 문학텍스트와는 확연히 구분된다. 민속극은 종합예술적 성격을 가진 문학 작품이기 때문에 학습자에게 민속극을 가르치기 위해서는 그에 맞는 교수-학습 방법 연구가 선행되어야 하는 것이다. 본고에서는 이러한 민속극의 특성을 고려한 교육 방안으로 역할놀이를 이용한 민속극 교육 방법을 선정해 논의를 진행하였다. 학습자는 모둠원들과 역할놀이로 민속극을 재구성해보는 과정을 통해 민속극의 종합예술적 요소와 공동체적 삶의 의미에 관해서 사고하는 계기를 마련할 수 있다. 이와 같은 의미에서 민속극 단원 수업의 협동학습 수업 방식은 적절한 수업 모형이 될 수 있다. Ⅱ장에서는 효과적인 민속극 교육을 위해 민속극 교육의 기본 방향을 정립하였다. 민속극 교육의 방향은 ‘민속극의 개념과 연행 원리 습득, 실연을 통한 학습자의 능동적 작품 수용, 민속극의 현대적 가치 모색’의 순서로 정하였다. 학습자는 ‘민속극의 개념과 연행원리 습득’ 단계에서 민속극에 대한 기본적인 지식들을 학습한다. ‘실연을 통한 학습자의 능동적 작품 수용’ 단계에서는 협동학습을 통한 실연을 통해 작품을 능동적으로 감상하고 내면화할 수 있다. ‘민속극의 현대적 가치 모색’ 단계에서는 학습자 스스로 민속극의 현대적 가치를 추론해 낼 수 있도록 유도하고자 한다. Ⅲ장에서는 Ⅱ장에서 설정한 민속극 교육의 기본 방향을 고등학교 국어(상) 교과서에 수록되어 있는 단원에 적용해 보았다. 의 교육적 의의와 역할놀이 방법을 살펴보았다. 의 교육적 의의는 ‘민중의식, 공동체적 유대감 형성, 삶의 유희’ 세 가지로 나누어 살펴보았다. 역할놀이는 학습자가 단순히 주어진 단원을 그대로 실연하는 것이 아니라 모둠을 구성하고 그 모둠원들과 민속극을 재구성하는 작업을 통해 민속극의 원리를 체화할 수 있는 과정을 의미한다. 이러한 역할놀이는 모둠원들과의 상호작용을 통해 자발적인 문제해결 능력과 집단의식을 향상시키고 언어능력을 발전시킬 수 있다는 이점을 가지고 있다. 역할놀이 후에는 학습자가 이러한 역할놀이를 바탕으로 의 현대적 가치를 모색해 볼 수 있도록 모둠원간 토의를 유도하는 것이 좋다. Ⅳ장에서는 실제 의 교수-학습안을 설계해 보았다. 기본 모형은 협동학습의 방법을 사용했으며 수업지도안은 현행 고등학교 수업 시수인 3차시에 맞추어 설계했다. 본고에서는 민속극이 연극이자 종합예술로서의 성격을 가지고 있기 때문에 민속극 교육의 모형으로 협동학습 방법을 통한 실연을 사용했다. 민속극을 접할 기회가 적은 현대의 학습자에게 민속극을 교육하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이다. 교과학습으로서의 민속극 교육은 문학적 측면과 극적 측면을 다양하게 고려하여야하기 때문에 교수자의 더욱 많은 고민이 필요하다. 본고는 앞으로 민속극 교육의 다양한 방안들에 대해 활발한 연구가 이루어지고, 그러한 연구를 이용한 수업을 통해서 교사와 학습자 모두 민속극에 대한 흥미와 관심을 가지게 되는데 작은 도움이 되었으면 한다.

Mask dance is a form of integrated art including literature, culture, dance and music. In general, audience can appreciate this art through watching and listening to what is performed by players. Mask dance can be easily changed depending on situations because it is delivered with music lines, which means the place for play is really important. Owing this feature, is not easy to adopt mask dance as material for teaching Korean literature subject. Even though mask dance from the book of Korean literature exists as written text, its nature is greatly different from that of other literature texts. As mentioned above, mask dance is such a combined artistic literature that we need to develop proper teaching-learning method to let the students learn it. I discussed how to teach through role-playing as a method of educating mask dance, after considering the features of mask dance. Learners can get to know integrated elements of mask dance and they have chance to think about 'What can be the true meaning of lives in community?' In this sense, group work-based method for mask dance lessons can be said to be a desirable class model. In Chapter Ⅱ, I put the basic direction of mask dance education to teach it more effectively. I set the ideal order of teaching such as, 'Acquiring the concept of mask dance and performance methodology,' 'Appreciating actively through real plays,' and 'Grouping for up-to-date value of mask dance.' In the step of 'acquiring the concept of mask dance,' learners get some basic knowledge about the art. In the second step, which is 'appreciating actively through real plays,' they can savor the artwork actively and internalize it through group activity. Lastly, the third step of 'grouping for up-to-date value of mask dance' could induce learners to infer the modern-day value of it on their own under the process. In Chapter Ⅲ, I applied the basic idea to 'Bong-san Mask Dance' contained in high school textbook Volume one. I researched on educational significance of 'Bong-san Mask Dance' and how to do role-playing. The significance can be categorized into three part such as 'Community Spirit,' 'Formation of Community Bond,' 'Joy of Life.' Role-playing does not only mean real practice of the textbook chapter but means internalizing performance methodology through reconstructing the mask dance with group members. This role play can benefit the learners because it improves the abilities to solve problems and enhances linguistic proficiency by letting them interact among themselves. So it could be a better idea to encourage them discuss within a group after the role-play. They can group for new value of Bong-san Mask Dance in this way. I designed practical lesson plans of Bong-san Mask Dance in Chapter Ⅳ. The basic model included group work for sure and the lesson plan is created for three periods of the current high school curriculum. In this research, I practiced a type of real play of the students through group work, considering mask dance's integral feature as mentioned. It is not easy for nowadays students to learn mask dance because they couldn't get as many accesses to the performance as in the past. I suggest teachers should think more deeply about teaching it. It is also because mask dance requires various consideration of both literary and dramatic sense. I hope many researches can be completed about ways to teach mask dance and teachers or learners will have more interest in it. And I also hope this research will help achieve the goal.
