- Abstract
- Air conditioning is generally divided into 2 fields. The one, comfort air conditioning, supplies to pleasant indoor environment to people.
Another, industrial air conditioning, is used to improve for productivity. Existing industrial HVAC is focused on the quality of manufactures and improved productivity, but currently it is care for the work environments in high ceiling enclose industries for workers. Most of industrial building HVAC is different from general system on the scale. The reason is why industrial building has high ceiling, because there is installed many biggest machine that has many characteristics of mechanical and thermal. General industrial building has high ceiling about more 4m.
So, the people who work near the bottom of a enclose high ceiling industries is exposed to thermal displeasure. If we are reacted by the existing HVAC system, it would be bring a huge amount of energy using. Since 19th century industrial revolution, the most basis of industrial development of mankind is energy gained by burning fossil fuels. Since then, the fossil fuel is used as the industry's primary energy, but it has limited availability, so the remaining seems almost little. During the process burning fossil fuels causes combustion products, and among them include CO2 and the other hazardous substances, Therefore, environment in earth is getting worse. As one of renewable energy sources. solar thermal energy is used to the various parts. because it costs low investment and is readily available a short period of the study.
As for this plan, the air is supplied to room by using the AHU(air handling unit) applied solar heating system. First, we should get temperature data which are water and air temperature at AHU and indoor air temperature near the AHU during winter and period of season change. It will be a data base for the following step, the CFD calculated simulation. After then, evaluation of thermal environment on large enclosure using each case study.
